You were born as a little being filled with wonder, internalizing impressions of the world around you, and taking on the beliefs and opinions of your surroundings. You were taught false truths by beautifully broken people. From then on you judged yourself based on those “truths”. Never happy with things like your looks, your hair, your weight or your color. Beautifully broken and misguided people taught you how to eat, how to love, how to look, how to learn, and how to feel. You heard the words no and stop a lot. Your spirit was shut down. You weren’t able to express yourself freely. You were taught to follow a bunch of rules and go through life in an orderly fashion. You got teased by people in pain. Nobody ever showed you how to interpret your experiences so you did so the only way that made sense. You concluded that something was wrong with you. You were not good enough to live the kind of life that you really wanted. You just weren’t smart enough, good-looking enough, strong enough, or important enough to matter as much as those people who seemed to have it all. Falling in and out of depression and anxiety in a continuous cycle of self-loathing, self-hatred, and self-destruction only provided you more evidence of the fact that you just weren’t good enough and life was too hard. You had it all figured out but there was still this feeling inside of you that there was more to life than this. There was something that you were missing and a piece of you just couldn’t go through life without reaching for it.
I’m sorry for all the pain you have ever experienced. You didn’t deserve it. You are amazing and there is only one you in the whole world. What makes you different is what makes you beautiful and special. There is a whole group of people out there who only you can touch because of your unique experiences, perceptions, and gifts. It’s time for you to stop defining yourself based on your past. You are not your experiences. Those are things that happened. Step out of your box and see things with brand new eyes. Every moment is an opportunity to recreate yourself and the world around you. Do not stay stuck in the way things are “supposed to be” based on what you were taught growing up. Your mind is just as capable as any other of expanding and making choices. Quit justifying the limitations that you put on yourself with excuses. Educate yourself on a million other ways to see the world, to eat, to love, to learn, to play, to grow, to live, to work, and to express yourself. Stop being a victim of circumstance and start taking accountability for yourself and the world around you. It is irresponsible to live with deep-rooted insecurities because you are teaching those around you to do the same, especially children. Stop being scared to face yourself because in facing your true self you will unlock the pathway to unleashing a love that will transform everything and give you new eyes to be able to see yourself and the world around you clearly. You will then see how beautiful you really are and you will not live to appear a certain way, in reaction to everything. Instead you will live an authentic life, effortlessly and fully present in each divine moment.
To love the world begins with loving the self as we are one
